Red, black and white..

I never ever would have thought that I would be photographing motor sport.. Dark location, impossible speed and well.. everyone is wearing a helmet. Not exactly the most interesting sport to shoot. However.. A great way to get to know my camera even better.

Skt. Hans

Yesterday I went to Blågårds Plads in Nørrebro here in Copenhagen for Skt. Hans with my friends.. First time I didn't go to the ocean to see the bon fire. It worked quite well - except from a couple of times where the wind caught the flames and threw them into the audience who ran screaming for their lives. Fun times.

Today is a sad day - days are getting shorter and night time is increasing. Boo. I love these light summer nights.

On the spot

Shine up

I happen to live in the only street in Denmark where the street names are painted directly on the houses. It has been that way since 1631 and the tradition lives on.

TIme flies

Who says you have to leave the house to get inspiration? Hah - this fella died a terrible death trapped between my windows.. Just a perfect model to try out my new macro lens.. When I have the time I'm gonna experiment with the reversed lens technique. Stay put.

I admit that these pics weren't shot with my 50mm but my new 100mm 2.8 macro.. That i L-O-V-E.

Spring is here!

My biggest fear?

Escalators.. Devilish things - especially the ones that go down down. I'd rather take a leap from a cliff than stepping out on these rolling bastards.

Btw - this photo is obviously not taken by me but my lovely friend, Ditte. I'm the fear fighter..

Nyboder

This is my home.. Nyboder (= new small houses) is a historic row house district of former Naval barracks in the center of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was planned and first built by King Christian the IV for the Royal Danish Navy and their families. The building project was started in 1631 and finished in 1795. These houses are heritage listed and still reserved for the military today.

Originally four families would share one house and rent out the lumber room in the addict to a student. The families were poor and not welcome in other parts of Copenhagen - when the man was on the sea prostitution was a way for he women to make money.

Today we have our own kitchen and each apartment is approximately 60 square meters. The majority of the residents are employed in the Danish navy.
