Color my world

Party animals on trains station in Sydney.

Have you ever looked at an old photo of yourself and thought: "What the f... was I thinking" when you saw what you were wearing? Well.. To me photo editing is just like that. That's why I always save the original so that I can re-edit it whenever I want. This photo was taken half a year ago.

Rebel

Today at work I looked out the window and two running guys caught my attention. They were running very fast in the middle of the road between the cars straight towards a hot dog stand on wheels with a lady pulling it. They jumped from the street up on the roof of the rolling hot dog stand. The lady didn't notice them - but so did many others. They both did a small dance of victory while greeting the crowd watching them. Then 1-2-3 they jumped from the hot dog stand to a downspout, disappeared behind a building and left their audience smiling and clapping.. Parkours. I love people that dare do things like that.

These pictures are from an abandoned power plant in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Inspirationessless

I know.. I'm slowly killing my blog by not posting anything new these days. And I do apologize. It has been quite an awakening to move back to Denmark from Australia. I started photographing at the Maldives in July last year. In Australia I practiced for six months and in Thailand I went nuts with my camera. I made a promise to myself as I returned to the tiny northern Kingdom, Denmark, that I would keep shooting photos and improve my skills. I've been breaking that promise and I miss it terribly. The thing is - Denmark has, since I got back, been all grey and dark and foggy. And not in the cool mysterious way.. More like a boring, colorless way. I get no inspiration here. None whatsoever. That is why I've convinced my dear boyfriend to go with me to Madagascar this summer. I can't wait. Chameleons, lemurs, native people. Just my kind of photography.

This is him by the way.. In cold and grey Denmark.

Kinda abstract

I don't like editing my photos too much - they always turn out too far from reality. However with this one I went all the way. High saturation, softness and cloned.. The original is from the orchid house in the botanical garden in Copenhagen. A plain red flower bud turning techno.

Which version do you prefer?

Spike it up

Evil plants of the botanical garden in Copenhagen.

As always Canon 1000D with 50mm f/ 1.4 USM.
Picture 1: 1/1000 f/2.5
Picture 2: 1/640 f/ 2.0
Picture 3: 1/200 f/ 1.8
I was lucky with the sunlight that gave me perfect light in the large green houses. The pictures are cropped, resized, cross processed and toned down in saturation. My next purchase is going to be a macro lens..

I miss summer

First - sorry for not posting new photos in almost a week. I'm spending the winter holiday in my boyfriend's summer residence far far away from civilization. That includes internet and cell phone reception. I haven't been photographing much the whole week since the winter in Denmark is freeeeezin'. And I'm not talking about the beautiful snowy kind of freezing - just grey wet freezing. It's awful.

Anyway - this photo is from our last trip to the summer house. Carla kept an eye on the sausages while the barbecue heated. She's the best sausage guard I've ever had. I miss summer!

Blue and green

The Indian Ocean hides a world of beautiful colors and weightless creatures. The water was 30 degrees and crystal clear. The corals was healthy and the fish not afraid of divers. I'm going back to the Maldives.

Kronhjorten

They may have kangaroos and koalas in Australia. But in Denmark we have the Red Deer - in Danish they're called "Crown Deer" because of their majestic antlers. This is a white stag in "Dyrehaven".

White'n'Black

Denmark's national bird - the white swan. So majestic and beautiful - there's no lake without them. I was surprised to discover the swans in Perth, Western Australia, are black. Dark and mysterious - I think I prefer the snow white version.

My princess

My beautiful princess, Carla. English Bulldog, five years old. A snoring, drooling, scratching puppy dog. I can't believe I left her for seven months.. That will never happen again. What would I do without her?

Dreaming of Paradise

The thermometer shows minus five, and ice crystals adorn the windows like frozen flower heads. I dream of Paradise's forecourt, the Maldives, where the water is crystalclear and never below 30 degrees.

Orchids on the windowsill

In summer I spend most days in my rose garden enjoying the colorful flowers unfold themselves and spread their sweet scent of summer. In winter while the roses are asleep my orchids get the attention. 11 of them are blooming these days. These pictures are of my Cymbidium and Dendrobium.

Like pearls on a string

I chose the wrong day to go the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. It was raining all day - the kind of rain that doesn't stop for one second and that will soak you in three. The heavy fog was covering the beautiful mountain scape but luckily I got some good shots of raindrops.

Sydney Opera House

Danish architect Jørn Utzon. Delays and cost aside - this is a masterpiece

As always with my 50mm lens. Taken on tripod. Shutter 30 sec. f/16
