My biggest fear?

Escalators.. Devilish things - especially the ones that go down down. I'd rather take a leap from a cliff than stepping out on these rolling bastards.

Btw - this photo is obviously not taken by me but my lovely friend, Ditte. I'm the fear fighter..

White'n'Black

Denmark's national bird - the white swan. So majestic and beautiful - there's no lake without them. I was surprised to discover the swans in Perth, Western Australia, are black. Dark and mysterious - I think I prefer the snow white version.

Jungle beauties

These beautiful creatures were sitting on the fence on the side of the road at Koh Chang in Thailand. I was passing by on a scooter and as I stopped to photograph them more monkeys kept coming. I guess they were curious to see what was going on. How wonderful it was to see and photograph wild animals. They could have disappeared into the rainforest if they wanted but instead they stayed and posed for me - great models.

I had to use ISO 400 - it was rather dark in the middle of the forest. F/ 3.5 - 4.5. Shutter 1/200. I've kept some color in the b/w effect. I like them that way.

Sydney Opera House

Danish architect Jørn Utzon. Delays and cost aside - this is a masterpiece

As always with my 50mm lens. Taken on tripod. Shutter 30 sec. f/16

The king of Australia

How amazing is it to watch a mob of kangaroos jumping across the green fields of Australia? This lovely model I found in Perth Zoo Western Australia. He didn't mind me getting up close so I shot him from every angle possible. The Red Kangaroo is the largest of all kangaroos, it's the largest mammal in Australia and the largest marsupial in the world.

As always this is shot with my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. These pictures are hardly cropped - I could get close enough to touch him actually. I've kept a hint of color to soften the b/w effect.

Captivity

Orangutans in Perth Zoo

Testing my new 50mm lens at Perth Zoo, Western Australia, I found this little beauty. Caged up alone with his mother. I think he's longing for a play buddy.

These pictures was shot through a dirty glass window, and without a zoom lens I had to crop them afterwards. Luckily they were sitting rather close to the window. I kept a hint of color to soften the b/w look.
